Future use of VM courses

Last week, the partners of the MoreVM-project convened in Brno (Czech Republic).

As the project is nearing completion, one of the issues we discussed was the degree to which the project goals have been met.

Fortunately, we could conclude that a lot has been realized. Mainly, the two courses on VM (one for students, one for coordinators) have been developed and tested.
The evaluation shows that the users of our products are more satisfied with the courses than we had anticipated.

Another success is that the Introductory VM course for students has been accredited throughout Europe, as it has a number of EC-points attached to it. This is important for now, and for future users.

Although it surpasses the original goals of the project, we discussed ways to have future users profit from the course evaluations. Ideally, we would like to amend the courses (‘quick wins’) and provide future users with some recommendations for use.

If the participation in our courses is anything to go on (e.g., more students applied for the course than we could handle – we had to find new tutors on very short notice), the project results (two courses and a Cultural Survival kit) will be used widely even after the project. Also, the growing demand from students to participate in VM indicates frequent future use.

As you can imagine, the meeting enjoyed an excellent atmosphere, notwithstanding the occasional snow in Brno!
